Everything You Need To Bring To The Gym

Yay!! You’ve taken the first step to getting your butt into the gym. But you don’t know what to bring. I use the K.I.S.S. method aka Keep It Simple, Stupid.

I take: water, towel, and change of clothes (including your toiletries). Some days I will take a shower if I’m going somewhere else directly after the gym. But if I’m going straight home I will shower when I get home.

But this isn’t about me, this is about you. So what do you need to bring?

  1. A positive mindset.
  • You have to stay positive because without being positive you can turn into a negative Nancy. A positive mindset is the key to your overall success. You have to go in knowing that you will conquer what you have believed to be the impossible is in fact possible to achieve. You will be able to stick to your goals knowing that you are going to reach those goals at your own pace and not the pace of your peers.
  • Water
    • You need more than your standard 16.9 oz bottle of water. On average you should push towards drinking 48-64 oz per workout. Hydration is very important while you’re training. If you’re someone who sweats easily you want to drink water frequently to avoid dehydration.
  • Gym Bag
    • Gym clothes, towel, soap, etc. Any and everything you need to be able to go home and relax after the gym vs going home to take a shower
  • Plan of Attack
    • What do you plan on training/doing when you get to the gym? You have to have a plan in place to keep you on track. Whether you are training upper/lower body, circuit, cardio, etc. you need to have your goals in the front of your mind and stick to them.

These 4 things are super vital to your health and wellness goals. If you keep these in your back pocket when you go to the gym you cannot fail.
